ABOUT ME
I began teaching art, in 1996 in South Africa where I had trained at the Cape Town College of Education, gaining an FDE in Art. I headed the Art Department at The Grove School, Newlands in Cape Town before moving to the United Kingdom where I was appointed Head of Art at the Hall School Wimbledon. I remained there for eleven years. I began teaching adult art classes to beginner and intermediate adults back in South Africa in 1998. After settling in the UK in 1999, I began a class in my home in Wimbledon Village shortly therafter. The classes grew and before long,we moved to the Wimbledon Village Hall in Lingfield Road.
After relocating to West Wimbledon in 2005, I opened my garden studio in Amity Grove where I taught weekly evening classes for adults while teaching children in the day. In 2009 we moved to our studio in our shop “Nicholas & Steele”, 78 Durham Road, West Wimbledon, SW20 0TL and have enjoyed a very busy and succesful few years since, with both day and night classes available, children's after school art clubs as well as our very popular art, pottery and clay parties. Private tuition is also available and scholarship advice and/or portfolio development is a speciality.
