Antique Mohair “Caesar” Terrier Dog Soft Toy C.1930s by Farnell

Mohair dog which was based on King Edward VII’s favourite pet - a wire fox terrier named Caesar.

Stands on all fours, unjointed with wire frame, clear and black glass eyes, stitched nose and mouth, cream mohair fur with black ears.

H11cm L14cm W4cm.

Overall extremely worn condition, mohair loss/balding overall, staining and discolouration particularly to legs, small hole to three feet, small hole to back seam and tail seam. Mum made ‘bandages’ appear to have been applied when it started leaking its stuffing. 

Absolutely lovely little antique toy by a good maker.
